Seriously Though????

Once again, I turned on the t.v. at 8pm on Monday and saw something horrific, ANOTHER repeat. Seriously though???? This is getting really old. Each week my friends and I gather around to watch our favorite show, and for the last three weeks we have had to cut our gatherings short because of our upset.

I am thinking of random Gossip Girl topics to write about and this week I am going to discuss Dan and Serena and Rufus and Lilly's love square. For all of you that don't know, Rufus is Dan's father and Lilly is Serena's mother.

Dan and Serena started dating in high school they became very serious and loved each other deeply. Lilly was single and Rufus's wife left him, with Dan and Serena dating their parents were going to be around each other eventually. There was obvious tension between the two and we find out that they had a past together, a huge past.

Back in the day Rufus and Lilly were dating and in love. Rufus was a struggling musician and did not make a lot of money, Cece, Lilly's mother basically trapped Rufus and gave him an ultimatum. She did not want the two to be together. Rufus ended things with Lilly. They both went on with their lives and created new lives.

Serena and Dan broke up for various reasons during the first season, some of which could have been their parents relationship. Lilly was seeing Rufus and Bart Bass and the same time. She figured things with Rufus would never work out but she loved him deep down. She choose Bart in the end, and married him.

Serena and Dan got back together during the second season. Bart passed, and Lilly began seeing Rufus again, they were in love AGAIN. During this "make-up" a big secret surfaces. Lilly had once been pregnant with Rufus's child, but her mother made her give it up for adoption. Rufus had no idea she was pregnant. This made Dan and Serena's relationship even more awkward...they shared a sibling. They ended up breaking up again. Rufus and Lilly are still together.

It's a never ending family affair!

ANOTHER repeat, this is getting old...

I hate repeats. I look forward to Mondays, because that means Gossip Girl is going to be on. The past two weeks in a row I have been tricked. I turn on the t.v. at 8pm and awaiting a new episode when a horrifying repeat comes on. It makes me sick.

Anyhow, since I sadly can't blog about what new happened in this weeks episode I am going to do a little re-cap of the main events that happened in first season of Gossip Girl.

-Serena returns from boarding school

-Blair is mad she is back because Serena had sex with Nate before she left (who Blair is dating)

-Serena and Blair are at war, but they eventually make up

-Blair is dating Nate most of the time, but they eventually break up

-Serena and Dan start dating and fall in love

-Nate's father got into trouble for embezzlement and fraud and develops a coke problem and the Archibald's lost all their money

-Dan's childhood friend, Vanessa returns and confesses her love for Dan, he rejects it and is stays with Serena

-Vanessa and Nate have a fling

-Rufus and Lily have obvious feelings for each other, but Lily dates Bart Bass and eventually marries him

-Blair looses her virginity to Chuck, Nate's best friend, and Nate does not want to be friends with Chuck anymore, Blair is very upset about Nate and wants him back

-Serena's old sidekick, Georgina resurfaces and starts drama, she threatens to reveal a deep dark secret about Serena ( it was that they were doing coke with a guy at a hotel and he died and they left the scene, Serena felt like she was at fault, that is why she never told anyone, she had no control over his death) Serena acts weird around Dan because she doesn't want to tell him the awful truth so she lies and tells him that she slept with someone else, they break up, and Georgina tries to get with Dan.

My Character Pet Peeves

Hello there Gossip Girl fans! Sorry my post for this week was a little late, but the episode of Gossip Girl airing on February 9th was a repeat!

Back in the day, before Gossip Girl was on TV, I read the Gossip Girl book series. The books were my first true love, but don't get me wrong I love the show too, I just love the books a little more. With the show being based off the books, you would think they would mimic each other, unfortunately they don't.

On the sad of occasion of this repeat, I am going to share with you my top three character differences between the books and the television show that piss me off.

1. In the books Jenny Humphrey is has to have brown, curly hair and enormous breasts. On the show Jenny has blond, straight hair and has very small breasts. The books mentions her giant breasts ALL THE TIME, and the show fails to recognize them. I don't think it would make the show any better, but it was weird to me how the Jenny from the book is now opposite from the Jenny on the t.v. show.

2. On the show Dan looks an average student at Constance without an addictive personality. The book portrays him as an anorexic-looking young man who chain smokes cigarettes and is addicted to coffee. Although Dan is very attractive on the show, I think the tension of Dan and Serena coming from "two different worlds" could have been emphasized if Dan was imitated from the Dan in the books.

3. In the books Vanessa is very punk and has a shaved head. On the show Vanessa has beautiful, curly, brown hair and acts like all the other characters, which is anything BUT punk. Vanessa hooks up with Nate, it would have caused much more of a scene if THE Nate Archibald was hooking up a with a bald-headed punk, rather than a normal girl who didn't go to college.

While reading these series I imagined it happening, scene by scene. Not only was I shocked about how these characters appeared, I was upset that visions in my head were the opposite of what I watched on t.v.

I think that if these three characters were portrayed on the show as they were in the book, the show would be better. I mean come on, the author, Cecily von Ziegesar, had reasoning behind how she originally pictured the characters. It would make the relationships, the tension, and the show more interesting and dramatic.

I'm sure for those of you who read before watching feel my pain. Thanks for letting me vent!

Carrnal Knowledge

Thank God! This week's episode of Gossip Girl was new and amazing!

In this episode, Nate Archibald and his beau Vanessa are featured. Nate is Chuck's best friend who used to date Blair. Vanessa is Dan's best friend. Jenny, Dan's little sister also makes an appearance.

This episode starts off with Blair (more like her maid, Deroda) serving her detention sentence.

Dan and Miss Carr are having coffee and conversation. Serena comes to meet Miss Carr (now referred to as Rachel) to turn in her essay who she is surprised to see with Dan.

Chuck wakes up and vaguely remembers a night of partying but notices he has a new tattoo. He finds a mysterious card with an address on it.

Blair is done with her sentence, seeks revenge. Her posse does not agree to help her. The headmistress announces that they are not allowed to have cell phones at school, the students are horrified. They decide that Miss Carr is behind the new policy, Blair's posse decides to join her in the her war.

Chuck meets with Nate and Vanessa and tells them about the letter he received with the date, address and time on it. They go to the address, which appears to be someones home, Chuck flashes back to the previous night and says he was with the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.

Blair and her friends try to find dirt on Miss Carr and find nothing, they decide to start a rumor about a love affair between Dan and Miss Carr. Serena confronts Dan, he assures her that it isn't true.

Chuck tells Nate and Vanessa that last night that home was the ultimate gentleman's club. There is a picture of the unknown beautiful woman (holding a baby) in the house. The house is for sale and Chuck finds out that the woman in the picture is the nanny. Chuck calls the owner of the house and he finds out that the nanny(Elle) was in Greenwich last night, not at the supposed party.

Miss Carr and the headmistress confront Blair about the Gossip Girl post. A member of Blair's posse, Nelli Yuki, snitched on Blair. Blair is going to be expelled. Blair is scared her Yale acceptance will be revoked and she could possibly be up for slander. Blair's father is going to help her fight this.

Serena goes to meet with Miss Carr to try to defend Blair, Miss Carr isn't letting up. Miss Carr left her planner and Serena goes to return it, at a restaurant, where she is with Dan. She takes a picture of them looking pretty flirty.

Chuck meets with Elle. She tells him that he was never supposed to get the invitation. She tells him that she was at the party, but she was there for his deceased father, not him. She drugged him and put him at a hotel to keep him "safe." She is scared that someone will find out that she let an outsider in to the private party. Bart was up to no good.

Serena shows Blair the picture and they rush to Constance to intrude the meeting. Serena texts Dan and tells him to come ASAP. The picture is blown up on the big screen. Serena confronts Dan AGAIN, and he told her he was just comforting her because she was crying. Miss Carr was fired and Blair is back in. Blair's father overhears her and finds out she was lying, he is very upset with her.

Dan and Serena decide to break things off.

Serena finally returns the datebook and tells Miss Carr she was the one who took the photo. Miss Carr tells her essay was great. Serena feels terrible, naturally.

Chuck goes through his father's things and finds a bunch of invitations like the rest. The owner of the home calls Chuck and tells her that Elle is missing.

Dan goes to Miss Carr's home to apologize. They end up making out and hooking up, because she is no longer a teacher.

The headmistress decides to let Miss Carr finish the semester.

My Prediction for this episode was right on point!

Next Week's Prediction: I think Dan and Miss Carr are going to hook up and with her rejoining Constance things are going to be awkward, and they might even get caught. I think Serena is going to realize she wants to get back together with Dan. I think Chuck is going to find out the whole story behind Elle and the party, and not like what his father was up to before he passed away.
